Event description:

“Africa Week is a student run week of events at raising awareness of topical issues affecting the continent as well as celebrating African culture. Hosted by the Yale African students’ Association (YASA), this year’s annual Africa Week is slated from 11 - 17 November, 2013. We have a mix of speaker engagements, performances and discussion panels organized around a central theme, ‘Africa 360: a panoramic perspective of the continent‘. This theme arose from our observation that discussions about Africa on campus are nearly always limited to security concerns and economic development. Whilst these issues are obviously extremely important we wanted to stress the wealth and breadth of other disciplines and fields in which Africans are making significant and innovative contributions to the continent.”
