The Higher Education Initiative Program, sponsored by the Yale Black Alumni Association and the Afro-American Cultural Center is a project that will involve a group of 12 Yale students living together, learning about the current state of the child welfare system, and leading workshops for current and former foster youth about goal development and college preparation during the week of Spring Break (Exact date TBD) in most likely Atlanta, GA. On November 1st, 7-8pm in the Founder’s room, there will be an informational session which will explain and answer questions regarding the mission, purpose, and experience of participating in HEI. Past HEIalums will also present and answer questions about their experience. The HEIapplication will go live Nov. 1st through Dec. 2nd.
