Event description:

Yale University invites you to join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  The Yale MLK Planning Committee has worked to organize a series of events and partnerships dedicated to honoring the rich legacy of Dr. King.

The Yale and New Haven events will begin on January 15 and run through January 29, 2014.  Some of the sponsoring groups include the Black Student Alliance at Yale, the four Yale Cultural Centers, Dwight Hall, the Yale College Dean’s Office and the Office of the President, along with a number of community, religious and civic organizations.

Yale invites you to join our signature event as we host a conversation with Henry Louis “Skip” Gates at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 25 in the auditorium of the Sterling Law Building, 127 Wall Street.  The evening will include a screening of “A More Perfect Union (1968-2013),” a talk by Skip Gates and a panel discussion of scholars, community leaders and students.

Please visit the following link (http://news.yale.edu/MLK2014) for a detailed description of all events, including the Yale Day of Service and the Yale Peabody Museum’s Annual MLK programming.

We look forward to seeing you for the many MLK events.

Sincerely,

Dean Rodney T. Cohen
