Africa: The New Frontier for Global Terrorism?

Two days ago, Kenya commemorated what was one of the most daring and most brutal terrorist attacks in the country since the 1998 bombing of the US embassy in Nairobi. The Westgate Mall attack left many scarred physically and emotionally. It was a clear indication that the threat of terror on the continent is real. Boko Haram continues to wreak havoc in North Eastern Nigeria, Al Shabaab is doing the same in Somalia. What is causing terrorism to spread this fast in Africa? What steps are being taken or should be taken to stop this growing extremism? What can we learn from countries such as the UK and the USA which have been victims of some of the deadliest terror attacks in history?
