Event description: 

The 2017 Yale Martin Luther King, Jr., keynote address will be given by Diane Nash on Wednesday, January 25, in Battell Chapel. Diane Nash is one of the civil rights movement’s most prominent leaders, serving as one of the key strategists for the 1960 Nashville sit-ins, 1961 Freedom Rides, and the 1965 voting rights campaign in Selma, Alabama. 

The event begins at 6:00 p.m., and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture is theme, “Courage, Conflict, and Creative “Maladjustment: Speaking Truth to Power Across Generations.”
