Event description:

Join Yale’s Affinity Groups to celebrate International Women’s Day in various locations across campus on Wednesday, March 8th, from 11:30 am– 1:30 pm. Stop by a location near you to get a flower for yourself, or someone you know, to celebrate International Women’s Day. Suggested donation of $1 per flower is welcomed, while supplies last, to benefit the Connecticut Women Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF). If you would like to donate directly to CWEALF you may do so at any time at: https://crm.bloomerang.co/HostedDonation?ApiKey=pub_e3c9a31e-9d7a-11e7-a…

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.

Working from home or can’t get to campus on March 8th? You can still participate by striking the #EmbraceEquity pose to show solidarity, downloading a web media background, downloading IWD social media cards, adding an IWD advocacy signature block to your emails, or taking a photo of yourself holding up a #EmbraceEquity selfie card. Send us your photos at diversity@yale.edu or tag one of our affinity groups on social media.
