La Casa Latino Cultural Center
301 Crown Street
Did you know? La Casa Cultural Julia de Burgos is named after Afro-Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos, whose poetry celebrates the Black experience. Join American Studies Professor Dixa Ramírez, the La Casa PLs, the AfAmPLs, Despierta Boricua, Caribbean Students Organization, Dominican Students Association, and sisters of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for an evening of poetry, food, folkloric dance, and reflections on Afro-Latinidad. Melanie Pagán will be dancing Afro-Puerto Rican bomba! Many thanks to the Intercultural Affairs Committee for their generous support.
**Come at 6pm for an (Afro-Cuban) rumba workshop taught by Dr. Maya Berry!**
