What the House Means to Me:
Meet Justin Sears, a freshman in Silliman College and a freshman on the Men's Varsity Basketball Team. In addition to playing varsity basketball, Justin is a member of the BMU and visits local elementary schools to read to the young students.
Here's Justin's take on what the House means to him:
"The Af-Am house is a space that allows me to connect with my peers so we can be reminded of our Black culture. Whether it be watching a game, a political event, going to a party, or just hanging out, the House allows me to be around people of my culture. Being at the house helps give me the confidence to maintain a strong presence on the Yale Campus as a Black Male."
