The YBAA is now accepting nominations for the National Board of Directors through May 24.
This letter is an open call for nominations for those alumni seeking to serve as a board member of the YBAA National Board. It has been five years since a group of alumni met at the House and began to envision the Yale Black Alumni Association (“YBAA”). Since then, we have initiated chapters in most major cities across the country. We have supported the growth of student/alumni mentoring, hosted social and networking events, and led community service programs in our local communities. Our signature programs and partnerships include the Summer Institute of the Arts in Bronx, NY, and Los Angeles, CA and the Higher Education Initiative now in its 5th year serving youth in Los Angeles, Chicago and now Seattle.
Our theme from the beginning was simple, “let’s roll up our sleeves and get the work done.” We’ve been successful in accomplishing this and look forward to hearing how you might want become involved as a member of the national board. Please spread the word to any outstanding candidates you may know or nominate yourself! We look forward to reviewing all applications and being in touch!
