What's up, everyone! Hope everyone's had a great summer. We're finally getting back into the swing of things here at the Afro American Cultural Center at Yale. We've got a great year planned filled with kickbacks, phenomenal guest speakers, and maybe even a party or two.

But, to get the year off to a great start we're having a Welcome Back Barbecue/Kickback right outside the House today. We'll be here until 4! Make sure to stop on by and grab a bite to eat and enjoy some good music with the House Community.

Each of the cultural centers plays a vital role as a second home for many of the students they serve. Whether its going to a meeting at a center or simply going to hang out and catch up with friends, each of the four centers occupies a special place in the hearts of the students in their respective communities. A huge thanks goes out to the Multicultural Affairs team in admissions for this producing this inspiring video showcasing each of Yale's four cultural centers!

We're proud to host a Dean's Tea with Lola Agunnaike, anchor at Arise Network and Today Show contributor this Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Art Gallery! We hope to see you all at The House on Thursday evening for this great event!

Today, April 10, 2014, marks the 105th Anniversary of the founding of the Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated here in New Haven. 2 of the three founders of the House, Armstead Robinson and Donald Ogilvie were initiated into Zeta Chapter in 1966, 3 years prior to the House's founding. Congratulations on 105 years of brotherhood, academic excellence, and service on Yale's Campus and throughout New Haven!
