"In February, BSAY will be bringing the prominent Atlantic journalist to campus for a talk! Please look out for more information for his talk and reception. If you aren't familiar with him, check out his landmark piece The Case for Reparations (link below). His in-depth study is in a class of its own and a worthy read. We hope that BSAY members would join us in welcoming him when he arrives!!"
Dear students:
A team of consultants visited Yale in November 2014 to help the senior administration consider the work of the four cultural centers in light of students’ changing needs, and to offer suggestions for strengthening that work now and for the future.
After meeting with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and many alumni, the consultants reported their findings and recommendations, which are now available for download, along with questions we have already received about them.
Dear House Members,
I'm happy to announce that The Afro-American Cultural Center Achievement Awards (AACColades) is coming back. Traditionally, the awards are presented to outstanding African, Afro-Caribbean and African American freshman, sophomores and juniors who have realized outstanding scholastic achievement, or exceptional accomplishments in numerous fields. This year, we plan on making it an event for those of us staying at Yale for another year to celebrate the ending of the academic year together.
